This is one of 50 plus instructional packets currently available from the Technology Preparatory Program (Tech-PreP). These packets are being designed to provide students with basic to a more advance level of preparation to enter into the study of modern technologies within K-16 systems of education.
Communicating with Electrical Current - Morse Code offers students the opportunity to see how one of the most basic forms of mechanical communication between two sources was achieved using an electrical circuit and a keying device. Studying Samuel Morse's Morse Code and a visual simulation of his telegraphic system will begin to open up a student's mind to the many forms of electrical transmissions and other aspects of communication, which will be covered in subsequent lessons.
Lessons to Come - The sample of this lesson includes a list of the lesson objectives of all the packets being offered in this module. I've used the operational experience I gained while serving in the USAF as a supervisor and trainer of Signals Analysts to create series of self directed and connective lessons that will gradually build upon a student's current understanding of their technical world, while increasing their ability to icus on tails, follow instructions and increase their deductive reasoning skills.
